BLAKEBURN UPDATE

Well, here we go again, LOGGING has resumed at Blakeburn. This time TOLKO is working near the Tram-line. The logging road located at the 5 km. mark up Blakeburn road, is now an active logging road. The Stop-sign there which has served as a land mark for visitors heading to the tram-line at Tower 12, is gone and the trail is no longer 2 wheel drive. The author was unable to access the tram-line due to the high level of logging activity this day, therefore : Any visitor to the tram-line or Anchor Hill is requested to report to this web-site the extent of any damage ( or lack of ) to the site. We have stopped the treat to the town , we can do so again for the tram-line.

hey, I have been reading your blog, and due in part to the information here, I hitchhiked up to Blakeburn to check out the ghost town. I just finished writing a zine about my trips to Blakeburn and a few other BC ghost towns that lists your blog as a ghost town resource. I would be happy to send you a free copy if you have a mailing address. You can email me at reeceaxl@gmail.com
I wish you luck in ending the logging that is threatening Blakeburn.
